The NFL's Poster Boy Tarnishes His Image

On the Idol Chit-Chat blog, I took a shot at this past weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” host, Peyton Manning, saying “as if we don’t see enough of that guy on TV already.”

Well, if he’s as entertaining as he was on “SNL,” he can be on TV as much as he wants…

It was great to see the NFL’s poster boy get his squeaky clean image a little dirty. The United Way spot parody in which Manning hit kids with a football, cursed at them for not catching his passes, taught them how to break into a car, and used them to hit on women was hysterical. It probably didn’t make the United Way (or the NFL) very happy since they used their actual logo, but I don’t think it will cause him to lose any endorsements.

And if it does, it’ll just make me like him more…

You can see the United Way spot for yourself at www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/index2.shtml.

And for anyone who has seen way too many “Dora the Explorer” cartoons, the “Saturday TV Funhouse” parody of Dora called “Maraka” was hilarious. You can see it at the same website…
